The word Mechatronics is a portmanteau of “Mechanics” and “Electronics.” Mechatronics is the blending of mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering into an integrated design. The main objective of this interdisciplinary engineering field is the study of automata from an engineering perspective, thinking on the design of products and manufacturing processes.
As manufacturing becomes increasingly competitive, sophisticated technology that improves productivity has emerged. Artificial intelligence is a subfield of computer science concerned with understanding the nature of intelligence and constructing computer systems capable of intelligent action. Artificial intelligence in manufacturing can be applied to all systems and processes.
Journal of Mechatronics and Intelligent Manufacturing
is an interdisciplinary, international Journal that publishes refereed, high quality articles with a special emphasis on research and development in recent advances in mechatronics and intelligent manufacturing. JMIM provides discussion and the exchange of information on all aspects of mechatronics and intelligent manufacturing for modern industry.
publishes full research articles, review articles, technical notes, and cases studies. Proposals for special issues on selected topics reflecting recent mechatronics and intelligent manufacturing advances or on select articles of conferences can be submitted directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
