Hydrological Science and Engineering Series $0.00
Editors: Dr. Tommy S. W. Wong
Book Description:
Since the beginning of human existence, there has been an intimate relationship between human beings and the hydrological cycle. In particular, humans had to endure extreme hydrologic events such as floods and droughts. In order to improve their quality of life, humans have attempted to understand the hydrological cycle and to forecast hydrologic events. With the explosion of human population over the last century, the amount of human activities on Earth can actually alter the hydrological regime, such as climate change and global warming. Hence there is a need to assess the impact of human activities on the hydrological cycle and to provide solutions to counter any undesirable effects. This book series provides a platform for presenting scientific findings which can further the understanding of the hydrological cycle and its relationship with all living beings. It also provides a platform for presenting engineering solutions to enable humans to live in harmony with the hydrological cycle.
