The parallel and distributed computing is undergoing change at a
breathtakingly rapid rate, as computers are now prevalent in
virtually every application, from network games for children
through the most sophisticated space missions. The increasing
complexity, heterogeneity, largeness, and dynamism of emerging
pervasive environments and applications are challenging the
further extension of the parallel and distributed computing. Many
novel technologies have been or are being developed to support
various advanced functions. New models and tools have also been
developed to evaluate and predict the quality of those complicated
systems. The applications of these systems in some important and
interesting areas have solved many hard problems and offered some
brand new services that were dreamed before.
This book is a monography for an exhibition of those
novel stuff in the advanced parallel and distributed computing.
