Book Description: The book contributes to the expanding field of economic sociology, especially the sociology of markets. It adopts an interdisciplinary framework for analyzing markets. Its novelty consists in the application of the theoretical concept of the “duality of structure” to the analysis of markets. The main premise is the social-economic duality of market structures. Market structures are conceived as both economic and social categories, which distinguishes this work from most of the current literature in economics and sociology. The book is divided into two parts, of which each deals with the economic and social facets of market structures, respectively, and is subdivided into four chapters, added to an introductory chapter. |
