Book Description: Predicting natural catastrophes is one of the major challenges of the scientific community. Natural disasters appear in two general fashions: sudden liberations of energy or cyclical events. Climate change could influence cyclic dynamics, which challenges the prediction of natural catastrophes even more so. This book discusses causes, predictions and the impact of monsoons, and other natural cycles, from the normal or even slight deviations in light of country economics, agricultural production and water availability. Also discussed are the hazards from volcanic avalanches, avalanche control and limitations, and scale invariant avalanches; and the condition of the arctic environment and sea ice by the middle of the 21st century.
