Abstract:
This article examines the cutaneous complications of obesity, especially the pathologies associated with augmented folds, striae due to skin overextension, those related to endocrinologic alterations such as: insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, aromatase expresion in adipose tissue and calcipotriol action on adipocytes; metabolic disorders of the subcutaneous tissue better known as gynecoid lypodystrophy; and those that appear due to the pressure elevation of the legs venous system as peripheral venous insufficiency and its complication, the lymphedema.
