Qualitative Evaluation of a Drug Prevention Program in Hong Kong: Perspective of the Program Implementers

Abstract: A total of 15 workers implementing the Astro Kid and Astro Teens program in Hong Kong participated in qualitative evaluation interviews after completion of the programs. Interview questions were designed around the CIPP model, focusing on the evaluation of the context, input, process, and product of the programs. Results showed that the workers had positive perceptions of the different aspects of the programs, particularly the process and product of the programs. The findings generally showed that the program implementers had positive perceptions of the programs and they perceived that the programs were able to protect the participants from substance abuse.
