Teaching Oral Skills to Spanish Students of EFL Affected by ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder): Six Case Studies (pp.1-56) $100.00
Authors:  (Joaquin Cruz Trapero, Spain)
Abstract:
The Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (hence ADHD►2) is one of the
commonest disorders among school children, affecting between 2 and 12 of every 100
students. Children affected by this disorder frequently display disruptive behaviors and
may have slower cognitive processing speeds. If the disorder is not diagnosed in time,
ADHD kids are at risk of falling behind their partners and this may result inschool
failure. Given the fact that ADHD is often unabated due to lack of diagnosis, an early
identification at school may be paramount in the life of students. This paper proposes a
basic and easy neurolinguistic construct to help teachers to understand the disorder,
together with an useful class game which may serve as a tool to identify ADHD kids in
the English (or foreign) language class. Some case studies are described and remedial
strategies are proposed too.
