Abstract: This chapter presents the properties for an error-squared controller. Computation
of two limits in a nonlinear gain for an error-squared controller is considered by two
distinct procedures and a performance analysis. The first limit for the nonlinear gain is
obtained using Lyapunov stability theorem. The second limit for the nonlinear gain is
obtained by computing a limit for a linear gain and then the procedure is generalized
to a nonlinear case. Simulation results have been made to compare the tuning methods
proposed in this paper with other tuning conventional methods found in the literature.
It shown that the limit for the nonlinear gain computed by second method is more
