Cardiology perspective of Tricuspid valve disease The potential role of percutaneous valve technology (pp. 593-620) $100.00
Authors:  (Deborah H. Kwon, and Allan L. Klein)
Abstract:
Percutaneous valve techniques have been emerging of the past several years, including percutaneous replacement of aortic and pulmonic valves as well as multiple techniques regarding repairing the mitral valve for functional or degenerative mitral regurgitation. Patients are rarely referred for surgical correction of isolated tricuspid valve disease, and surgical correction of the tricuspid regurgitation often takes place only when patients are undergoing other planned open heart procedures. Therefore, patients usually do not undergo tricuspid valve operations until they have advanced to symptomatic right heart failure. The evolution of percutaneous tricuspid valve techniques which mimic those which have been developed for the mitral valve may play an important role in the management of patients with tricuspid valve disease.
