Abstract: Children are naturally curious and it is part of their development to explore the environment, but sometimes we as adults leave things around that can be found and swallowed by small kids. The smaller the better and that is what has happened with our electronic toys and gadgets, where today batteries are small and compact. They also contain concentrated solutions of caustic electrolytes, usually potassium or sodium hydroxide.
