Abstract: This article will help the reader to have a good understanding of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic and painful dermatology disorder, and some of the common disorders of sebaceous and sweat glands, such as hyperhidrosis, anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, and nevus sebaceous. The article briefly review these disorders and current available treatments as well as focusing on psychocutaneous problems related to these disorders. All of these chronic disorders require a holistic approach to help these patients cope with their dermatological conditions. Physicians need to help their patients have better understanding of their disease and ways to control its symptoms. The physician’s most important mission in chronic diseases is to help patients have the highest quality of life possible. Holistic evaluation of patients while having age-appropriate bio-psycho-social model in mind will help physicians accomplish this important mission.
