Neurocutaneous disorders (pp. 39-46) $45.00
Authors:  Zeba Hasan Hafeez
The skin and the nervous system are both derived from the ectoderm, and congenital conditions involving the skin and nervous system are classified as neurocutaneous disorders. Many of these diseases manifest variable phenotypes (observable characteristics or traits) due to different mutations in a single gene. This discussion focuses primarily on neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis complex which are the more common genodermatoses conceptualized as neurocutaneous disorders. Principles of management are presented.
