Thermodynamics and Modeling (pp. 329-341) $50.00
Authors:  Norman C. Craig and Eric A. Gislason
Henry Bent introduced the "global" formulation of thermodynamics. This formulation is reviewed and compared with the standard, "local" formulation. New insights, revealed by the global formulation, are emphasized, and subsequent developments in the global formulation are reported. A harmonic oscillator model, developed at the countable system level, illuminates the connection between microstates at the microscopic level and entropy.
