Sport-Specific Strength Training: Background, Rationale, and Program $69.00
Authors: Del P. Wong (Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong), Michael A. Tse (The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong), June Lee-chuen Chin (Hong Kong Sports Institute, Hong Kong), Christopher Carling (LOSC Lille Metropole Football Club, France)
Book Description:
This book reviews the latest scientific research in the application and design of sport-specific strength training programmes in three types of sport: a team sport (soccer), a racket sport (badminton) and a water sport (rowing). Generally, training programs designed to improve sports performance involve metabolic training (i.e., aerobic or anaerobic metabolism), functional training (i.e., training to enhance movement), and strength training (i.e., training to enhance muscle capacity). This new book highlights the information aforementioned on the topic of sport-specific strength training programs and illustrates examples of these programs in various aspects of physical activities.
