Abstract:
Electrokinetic methode for remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater has been developed during last decades and in situ chemical oxidation is innovative technology for effective treatment of organic contaminants, such as NAPL and DNAPLE, and then bioremediation is the most transitional methode. This research investigated for applicability of combined technology, such as electrokinetic-in situ chemical oxidation and electrokinetic-bioremediation. Genaerally, in situ remediation of clayely soil was difficult since low permeability hinder effective injection of the reagents and microorganisms. In this study, the for remediation of low permeability soil contaminated with PAHs, availability of in situ chmical oxidation and bioremediation enhanced with electrokinetic technology could be proved as bench scale tests. Furthermore, treatement mechanism of these technology explained through the proposed theory.
